Who We Are
Cheezy’s Artisan Pizza is led by Award-Winning Pizzaiolo David Jacobson and Raluca Romero, partners in life and in craft. With decades of combined experience and our dog Cheezy as our mascot and namesake, we bring passion, skill, and community spirit to every slice with the best local ingredients we can find.
How did we get good at this?
David has worked at many respected Bay Area pizzerias, including Flour + Water, Delfina, Benchmark Pizzeria, Pizza My Heart, and ACRE Kitchen and Bar. He won the Grand Prize at the Real CA Pizza Contest, earning him a spot on the US Pizza Team. Since 2016, Raluca worked alongside David for personal gigs and with the Forge Pizza Fire Truck, always with Cheezy at their side. Growing up in Bucharest with culinarily talented parents, she inherited an instinctive creativity that shines in every dish.
Pizza Inspired by Tradition
At Cheezy's, we bring you three styles of pizza: Grandma, a West Coast Neo-Neapolitan, and a gluten free Sicilian, each lovingly made in house. These pizzas aren’t just meals; they’re a tribute to the rich history of pizza-making. Every pie is baked in a traditional deck oven with care, using only the finest local ingredients. From the California tomato sauce to the fresh small-batch local cheeses, every bite is a reflection of the artistry behind it.

What sets us apart is our commitment to quality. We don’t just make pizza; we create an experience. Our Lamb Merguez and Gold Rush pizzas are crowd favorites, and our slice case is stocked with seasonal specials showcasing flavors you won't find anywhere else. The secret? Freshly baked pizzas made with the best local ingredients and a dash of creativity, lovingly put together on a slow-fermented house made pizza dough. Each pizza is a little piece of love on a plate.

At Cheezy’s Artisan Pizza, we proudly support Slice Out Hunger, a nonprofit organization uniting pizzerias nationwide to fight food insecurity. Through local and national initiatives, Slice Out Hunger channels the power of pizza into fundraising and food relief, helping communities across the U.S. access meals and resources when they need them most. 1% of the revenue from our slice case directly benefits this cause.
