Cheezy’s Artisan Pizza is a Bay Area pizza company built on long‑fermented dough, honest technique, and the belief that great pizza comes from detail-oriented nerds like us. Co‑founded by David and Raluca, Cheezy’s origin story began in early 2016 when we acquired a custom wood‑fired pizza oven on a trailer and started cooking at community events, breweries, wineries, and backyard parties. What began as a side hustle quickly grew into a multi‑arm pizza company with a brick‑and‑mortar restaurant, a full catering operation, and a consulting arm specializing in pizzeria concepts and recipe development.

David is a US Pizza Team competitor, award‑winning pizzaiolo, and seasoned chef whose background includes Flour + Water Pizzeria, Pizzeria Delfina, ACRE Kitchen & Bar, and Forge Handcrafted Pizza. His craft has earned national recognition:

Raluca brings her own culinary heritage, precision, and operational strength to Cheezy’s. Raised in Bucharest by food‑loving parents, she developed a natural instinct for flavor early on. She learned the pizza craft working alongside David and became his right hand during their catering years with Forge, mastering high‑volume service and the rhythm of mobile pizza operations. Her influence shows up in the way Cheezy’s runs: disciplined, warm, and rooted in genuine hospitality.

And at the heart of the story is Cheezy — their beloved dog, their mascot, and the spirit behind the name. Cheezy was present at countless pop‑ups, brewery nights, winery events, and private parties, greeting guests and becoming part of the identity that still defines the brand today.
